Day 3: Post Negotium

It’s Thursday. Three days ago, I was employed. Well, until noon. I was fired for what I have found out to have been a complex situation. If I had not been given a false reason as to the end of my employment, I would probably be a little less upset, but my anger is subsiding. I think that it is a testament to my change of character that I am dealing with this so well. It has taken me longer in the past. I suppose I have finally come to understand the rubber-ball analogy.

Today is tax day for the Springer household. I’m sure my parents would want me to say “Springer South” (We are slightly south of their house) or something along those lines, but the truth is that we are our own household, distinct and seperate from them. We face our own issues, and we will get through this.

We are doing a lot better financially than we might have been. When I got my student loans, I threw a substantial amount into savings. This, along with my last paycheck and other considerations will keep us going, hopefully long enough for me to find a position of comperable value. My friend Sam keeps telling me that I am working for peanuts; well, maybe it’s time to change that.

Or maybe I will just finish writing one of the books I have had simmering for far too long.
